WOW Mobile Metal Lab and Show is a traveling sculpture foundry and exhibition space in a converted metro transit city bus that brings the entire cast metal process to you, your business/organization or event.
WOW conducts demonstrations, workshops, festive activities and residencies that educate, inspire, and celebrate personal expression and community vision through the cast metal process.
WOW travels to schools, businesses, organizations, fairs and festivals offering programming for all ages and skill levels to participate in the process of creating individual cast metal objects/sculptures or collaborative public art.

ANNOUNCING new October Classes NOW and stay connected
for the Art Kit Launch in November!
Come and check out the bus reconfigurations and improvements to ensure
a more safe, fun and improved class, workshop and event experience.
Participants design and sculpt outside of the bus and pour metal
and do finishing work inside of the bus. Classes are customized to accommodate
the number of participants, the group (families/friends) and location.
Tents and heaters will keep us warm and dry with our
colder weather and potential rain showers.
The bus is open for business at the Casket Arts Sculpture Quad in NE Minneapolis
and scheduling workshops, classes and events to come to you!

CUTTLEFISH CARVING and METAL CASTING
In this all hands-on, creative and exciting class you will carve an original design (or choose from a selection of imagery, symbols and designs) into a cuttlefish bone to create negative space. That space is filled with lead-free pewter to create your original metal casting. You pour the metal into your mold (or not), do finishing work with hand tools and mount it on a metal/wood/stone base, fasten dog tag/jewelry/keychain/zipper pull hardware or put it in your pocket! Learn how to sculpt with the subtractive process, how to make a 2-piece mold, melt and pour metal. Discover the natural ease of working with and beauty of metal castings featuring the organic growth lines of the cuttlefish bone. Casting size is under 2"x 2".
No experience necessary. Ages 7+. Family friendly class.

1. MAKE AND TAKE:
Choose your design. (from pre-made molds)
Pour your metal. (lead-free pewter)
File and polish your metal casting.
Make it a pendant, pin, earrings, keychain or small sculpture.

2. CUTTLEFISH CARVING:
Create your custom collar design and carve it out of a cuttlefish bone that is used as a mold. Pour lead-free pewter into your mold and do metal finishing work with hand/power tools. Choose your necklace/keychain/pin hardware, attach your collar casting and WEAR IT and SHARE IT!
The castings are smaller than the actual collar size. The size of design needs to fit in 2"x2". We are creating a casting that will be attached to a necklace/keychain/pin.
There will be template designs available for you to select from.
