Exploring the concept of alternate worlds takes on a different significance whilst living in a pandemic world: a world where everything is familiar but strange in subtle ways.\n\nThis metal casting weekend event is a tribute to Lambert’s ‘Starry Starry Night’ iron pour performance where she created a ‘Star Making Factory’ to recreate the production of stars in molten iron as the sun came up at dawn.\nJoin us and cast your own molten metal star\, planet or other- worldly and interplanetary travel castings.\nLive music\, bonfire\, fire dancers and hot metal! DESCRIPTION:Create a one-of-a-kind metal casting and lasting memories for mom\, mother\, other-mother\, mothering-type\, or one of the many people supported by their love! \nWOW loves Mother’s Day for the obvious\, but also because when you turn WOW upside down – MOM!\nLearn the transformational process of cast metal to create your small sculpture\, pendant\, pin\, necklace or what-have-you for your special someone! \nIn this all hands-on\, creative and exciting class you will carve an original design (or choose from a selection of symbols and imagery) into a cuttlefish bone to create negative space. That space is filled with lead-free pewter to create your original metal casting. You pour the metal into your mold\, do finishing work with hand files/power tools\, and colored inks are optional. Hand-stamp a word of intention/name and mount your sculpture on metal/wood/stone base or affix jewelry/keychain hardware or just put it in your pocket. No experience necessary. This workshop is most appropriate for ages 10-up. An adult/parent can stay with the child during the class or come back to pick up.
